The NDP is going to continue to stand up for coastal communities.
Courtenay-Alberni MP Gord Johns says that on the topic of derelict vessels – the NDP wants to make sure there’s leadership from the government to protect the environment of coastal communities.
Johns says the goal is to eventually take a preventative approach in dealing with derelicts.
Johns adds that the NDP is also pleased with the federal government’s decision to include BC Ferries in the New Building Canada Fund, which will allow the company to apply for federal funding.
