Student learning to code

Students in Powell River will be learning to code today.

Caitlin Tuba with Traction on Demand says the students will learn how to tell a story using blocks of code. She says the grade five and six years are a great time to introduce kids to coding.

She notes that younger kids are more open to trying to new things and learning new technologies.

Tuba says it’s important that kids are exposed to computer science and coding so they can become creators with technology, rather than just consumers.
