Region adopts Fire Service Assistance Agreement

The Regional Fire Service Assistance Agreement has been fully adopted.

Manager of Emergency Services for the Powell River Regional District, Ryan Thoms, says the agreement has been adopted by five local governments, covering 8 different fire departments. He notes this allows a broader range of services to be offered to members of the community.

Thoms says the goal is to allow chiefs and officers to be able to request assistance through dispatch so that assistance can be deployed as quickly as possible.
