New trades pilot project at NIC

A new pilot program is being set up at North Island College to help new trades students connect with apprenticeship opportunities.

The province is providing $86,000. College spokesperson Christiana Wiens says the program will help those in the first year of their trades program.

Wiens says the goal is to have the pilot project up and running in the spring.

She notes they are also looking to connect with employers who may be interested in providing work opportunities for the students.
