UPDATE: Mechanics have informed the team that the bus’ engine is seized, meaning the Kings WILL have to purchase a new bus for their road trips.

The community has come together to support the Powell River Kings. The BCHL team’s bus broke down on its way to Wenatchee last month, and is currently sitting in a repair shop in Richmond.

Powell River’s Nadine Ferguson Porchetta has started a GoFundMe page in support of the team, with the goal of purchasing a new bus. Since the bus broke down, the squad’s been renting a charter bus for their road games, raising their travel expenses.

The Powell River Kings are currently ranked first in the Island Division with a record of 12-4-1-1 (26 points). Their next game is on Friday, November 10th in Nanaimo.
