POWELL RIVER, BC – It’s on to the next round for the Powell River Villa.
The Vancouver Island Soccer League (VISL) squad put on an impressive performance this weekend in the second round of the provincial B cup.
At Timberlane Park Sunday, they defeated the visiting Fraser Valley Blue Devils 2-1. Goals came from Kye Taylor, and Jake Kenmuir scored the winner.
The Villa will now move on to the provincial B cup quarter finals next Sunday, April 29. The team will face off against the FV Red Devils at Timberlane Park.
The game is set for 12:00 p.m.
It’s been a successful season for the Villa, with some solo success for the team’s players.
At the league awards a few weeks ago, Jake Kenmuir was voted the Division 3B’s Most Valuable Player.
