Swimming record attempt!

A pair of Vancouver Island long-distance swimmers say they came up short on a record attempt over the weekend.
Susan Simmons and Alex Cape attempted to swim 105 kilometers, unassisted, in Cowichan Lake.

Simmons, who has multiple sclerosis, says she is pleased with the effort and with all of the people that cheered them on

Simmons says Cape swam 94 kilometres. Last year, the women became the second and third Canadians to manage to pass the 70 kilometer mark.
