Despite the rain, some areas are still quite dry

In the Campbell River area, despite the rain we’ve had, there are large areas where they have already gone up to a moderate fire rating.

Coastal Fire Centre Fire information officer Marg Drysdale says people really need to follow the prohibitions, because it is still very dry out.

 

 

Drysdale says they will be looking at the situation in the next little while, and if people want to have a fire, they will have to go to the north island central coast area.
