It’s official….fentanyl related deaths have hit Vancouver Island…that from Regional Coroner Matt Brown with several deaths in our region linked to the drug.
Brown says between January, and May 31st of this year, there have been several fentanyl detected deaths…
Meanwhile two fentanyl deaths have been confirmed in Victoria, but none on the North Island, including Port McNeil and Port Hardy, and also no cases reported in Powell River.

Meanwhile Brown says they have not determined the cause of death, of a man and woman found dead in an SUV recently in Campbell River, as their investigation continues.
