The BC Cetacean Sightings Network says it’s great that so many people have been spotting whales recently.
Humpback, orca and even grey whale sightings have been common this summer in Georgia Strait and around Howe Sound.
Caitlin Birdsall with the BC Ceteacean Sightings Network at the Vancouver Aquarium says humpback populations have made a huge comeback since the 1960’s.
She says they’re encouraging people to download their free WhaleReport app so they can report sightings easily on their phones.
