Man attacked by bear explains details

For the record – his dog was on a leash, he is still very leery of being outside, and the conservation officer was awesome!! That from Scott Pointon – the man who was attacked by a black bear early Saturday morning. He was walking in the middle of the road with his shitzu/maltese Angel on Redonda Avenue when he heard a rustling in the bush.

After the attack Pointon ran to Starbucks where his friends were, then they drove him home to see if his dog was safe. The he and his friend drove to the sight of the attack where police were in attendance. Pointon says although he is a big guy – he felt useless fighting the bear, and that he is very cautious about any time he spends outside. Pointon gives credit to Conservation Officer Andrew Anaka and the RCMP who acted swiftly and professionally. Pointon has 8 or 9 stitched up areas that are fighting infection , which he says is the most painful part of the attack.
