POWELL RIVER, B.C. – The Santa Bus is coming to town.
The City of Powell River and BC Transit have teamed up to offer some holiday cheer this weekend. On Friday, December 14th and Saturday, December 15th, residents can hop on the Christmas-themed Santa Bus.
“People can get on board and ride this decorated bus, and enjoy the festive season,” said BC Transit’s Jonathon Dyck.
The bus is filled with Christmas decorations, and features Santa and his helpers as guests. Riders can also enjoy a candy cane when they hop on to the bus.
Dyck said the transit service is encouraging residents to leave their cars at home, and take transit for only 25 cents to do their holiday shopping and attend holiday events around Powell River.
“The 25 cent fare is valid on conventional transit routes, so that’s 1-Townsite and Wildwood, 2-Grief Point and 3-Upper Westview on December 14th and 15th,” Dyck explained.
“Riders on the rural routes 12-Stillwater and 14-Lund will enjoy 25 cent rides on December 14th as well. So there are lots of exciting things happening in Powell River, and we encourage people to come check them out.”
