Up to five centimetres of snow could fall on Powell River today
POWELL RIVER, B.C. – A special weather statement is in effect for Powell River today, with possible snowfall accumulations of between two and five centimetres.
An approaching Pacific frontal system will spread precipitation across the Sunshine Coast, including Powell River.
The cool air mass currently over the South Coast means that snow levels are low enough that precipitation may start as snow, especially over higher terrain and locations away from the water.
Snow levels are forecast to rise tonight with rain continuing on Wednesday.
Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
