An office supply scam is going around the city of Campbell River. And RCMP are warning businesses to be cautious. Corporal Gord Hay says the scam includes one or more phone calls to an organization.
The scam consists of multiple calls to your business, with the first being a request for information…followed by calls that try to mislead a colleague and get them to accept the package of office supplies.
The office supplies that are delivered are of poor quality, but cost significantly more than the market rate. The mailing address does not accept returns and if you don’t pay the invoice, you’ll receive numerous collection calls.
