Theft from BC Liquor Store

On Friday October 16th at approximately 6:00 PM, a 60 oz bottle of Grey Goose vodka was shoplifted from the BC Liquor store located at 7100 Alberni Street. The Powell River RCMP are asking the public for assistance in identifying two people that are believed to be involved in the theft.

Impaired Driver

On October 22nd at approximately 23: 00 hrs, a concerned citizen reported that a possible impaired driver was travelling southbound on Joyce Avenue after knocking over a sign near Barnet Street. The vehicle was located and pulled over and the driver demonstrated signs of impairment. The driver subsequently failed a portable road side breathalyzer which resulted in the vehicle being impounded for 30 days and the driver’s license being suspended for 90 days.

Another Impaired Driver

On October 24th at approximately 9:15 PM, a vehicle was stopped by police on the Powell River pole line.  The vehicle did not have valid insurance and the driver did not have a valid driver’s licence. The driver demonstrated signs of impairment and failed two separate roadside breathalyzers. The driver’s licence was seized for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

Mischief to Vehicle

Sometime over night between October 25th and October 26th, someone poured white paint onto a vehicle and left screws under the tires in the 4700 Block of Manson Ave. To date, no suspects have been identified.
