The RCMP are investigating a case of fraud that involves communities across Vancouver Island and the coast.
Constable Rob Gardner says they have been able to make some arrests as part of their investigation.
Gardner says police believe similar offenses have taken place in areas like Campbell River, Nanaimo, Duncan and Powell River.
He asks anyone with further information to contact the RCMP or Crimestoppers.
