As the strike continues between BCTF and the Government, nearly 300 Powell River locals came together on Wednesday night to rally support teachers.
There were 10 speakers, ranging from parents, to retired teachers, and even local authors.. Cathy Fisher, President of Powell River District Teachers Association also had a lot to say, Sun News caught up with her after the event to see how this rally came together…
The key message was about democracy says Fisher, who told us when the government stops funding public education to the same level it funds private education, then the public is in trouble.
