The Better Business Bureau is reminding residents to be vigilant for scammers in 2016.
The BBB has compiled a list of the top 10 scams of 2015.
CEO Rosalind Scott says one scam that caught many victims was by someone claiming to be from Canada Revenue.
Scott says you should always be cautious of any unsolicited contact.
Scott says another red flag is anyone demanding that you make a decision right away or using fear or intimidation to pressure you into a decision.
