Teachers Association suggesting ways to save money

The Comox Valley Teachers Association is urging the school board to look outside the classroom to save money.

President Nick Moore says the district needs to find more than $2-million in savings to make the books balance. He says school board needs to look at non-teaching areas to save money.

Moore says the Association knows there are no good options when it comes to cutting the budget, but the district needs to take steps to keep cuts out of the classroom as much as possible.
