An island cycling coalition is pushing for the creation of a BC Bike Fund.
Greater Nanaimo Cycling Coalition spokesperson Leo Boon says the fund would be available for communities who want to improve their walking and cycling trails.
Boon says having the infrastructure in place encourages people to get out and walk or cycle.
The province is working on a Transportation Vision and the Coalition has been meeting with ministry officials in an effort to advance their agenda.
