The City of Powell River is submitting a grant application for some upgrades to the Powell River Airport.
Director of Infrastructure, Tor Birtig says the city will be applying to the BC Air Access Program for some terminal upgrades. He notes the program serves to improve airports across British Columbia.
Birtig says plans include upgrading the parking lot, fixing draining issues, revamping the heating system, outside infrastructure work, and touching up the waiting room area.
Birtig says they’ll hear back in a few months whether the grant application was successful.
