The City of Powell River has approved the grants from the Community Forest Dividend.
City Councillor Russell Brewer says they approved just under $900,000 in funding for various projects.
Brewer says the projects include a seating area for logger sports, a cabin replacement on the Sunshine Coast Trail, and fire suppression equipment for the regional district.
Brewer says the level of grants reflects the success of the Community Forest and is one of the benefits of having a community-owned forest.
