Powell River residents will soon have another transportation option to the lower mainland.
As of May 19th , the Sunshine Coast Connector is starting service connecting citizens of the Sunshine Coast to Vancouver.
Powell River city Councillor, Maggie Hathaway says the service’s affordable pricing is key to linking the Lower Mainland to the Sunshine Coast.
She notes that it’s a win-win for everybody, as a lot of people living on the Coast have family in Vancouver and paying for flights can add up quickly.
Hathaway says she sees bus service between Powell River and Vancouver as an essential service for residents.
