Capilano University receives funding for new training program

Capilano University is receiving $50,000 from the B.C. Government for its Newstart training program.

Dr. Julia Denholm, with Capilano University, says they came up with the program after hearing about the Howe Sound Pulp and Paper Mill closure.

They’ll be offering the training program to the former workers of the paper mill and the B.C. government will also give the program some financial support.

Denholm says they’re proposing to debut the Newstart training program this September.
