Two Powell River residents have been honoured by the BC Achievement Foundation.
Doctor Jay Yule and Donald James have received the BC Community Achievement Award.
Foundation spokesperson Cathryn Wilson says Donald James was recognized for his work in the arts and culture community in Powell River. She notes that James has taught music, brought a music festival to the city and has really helped put Powell River on the map.
Wilson says Yule was recognized for his work in education and economic development in the region.
Wilson says the awards are aimed at recognizing those who have changed the face of their community through their work.
