The Shake Zone earthquake simulator is coming to Powell River.
The machine simulates what it’s like to be in an 8.0 magnitude quake.
Trish Greenwood with Powell River Fire Rescue says the simulator helps to show people how serious a major earthquake can be.
She says it’s important that people feel what an actual earthquake feels like, and the simulator will help with that.
She says it will also teach residents how to be prepared for a major emergency – both financially and personally in case disaster strikes.
The simulator will be at the Crossroads Village Parking lot tomorrow.
