Powell River resident receives multiple sentences at Provincial Court: RCMP

A Powell River resident recently got multiple sentences for thefts, including break and entry.

Mira Bolton-Hicks appeared in Powell River Provincial Court on Nov 1 for five different arrests and charges between Dec. 9, 2021, and Mar. 16, 2022.

The thefts resulted in $4,500 worth of inventory being stolen, broken vehicle windows and store entry windows and multiple conditional sentences, according to police.

Police say Bolton-Hicks was convicted of a break and enter in March and a charge of mischief in January. Three other chargers were stayed.

A stay means the charges are put on hold but those charges can be prosecuted within one year of the stay of proceedings.

Bolton-Hicks received conditional charges of 15 and 30 days along with 12 and 9-month probations for the respective convictions.
