Province looking to track cutthroat trout

If you’re fishing on Comox Lake this summer, the province is asking for help in tracking cutthroat trout.

Senior Fisheries Biologist Brendan Anderson says they are trying to get a better understanding of population of cutthroat trout in Comox Lake. They’re also looking to explore their history and behavior.

Anderson says if you catch a tagged trout, you’re asked to contact the province and provide some information.

Anderson says there’s no restriction in keeping tagged fish, as long as it meets the other criteria to be kept.
