Powell River RCMP is currently investigating arson in their jurisdiction.
The incident was reported on March 16th, when police received a report saying that a newspaper dispenser had been set on fire. The bin was just outside of Westcoast Thick.
Upon reviewing security camera footage, RCMP saw a group of six people crumple up a newspaper and light the bin on fire. The damage to the bin is irreparable, but no further damage came from the fire.
