Police seek driver, dash cam footage of pedestrian collision

Police are looking for help from the public to find the driver of a vehicle which hit a pedestrian in Powell River on Tuesday afternoon.

The man was crossing Lytton Street at the intersection with Joyce Avenue at 2:55 pm on Tuesday, when he was struck by a burgundy late-model Toyota SUV.

The driver, described as a female in her 20s or 30s with straight blonde hair and sunglasses, stopped to make sure he was OK before leaving without providing any contact information.

The man was not seriously injured in the collision.

Powell River RCMP would like to speak to the driver of the SUV, or to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have dash cam footage.
