Tourism operators in the region are hurting this summer after BC Ferries cut sailing and increased fares… that from North Island MLA Claire Trevena.Trevena is also the N-D-P transportation critic. Â She says the 33 percent drop in visitors to the Port Hardy visitor center for this June compared to 2013 can be attributed to the cuts.
 Trevena says the government has turned their back on coastal communities.
