Deal reached between province and Sechelt First Nation

The B.C. Government and the Sechelt First Nation have come to terms on a trio of agreements.

A Reconciliation Agreement, a Forestry Term Sheet and a Government to Government agreement have been negotiated.

John Rustad, Minister of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation says the three agreements set a foundation for both parties going forward.

The three parcels that are being considered for transfer are Egmont, Narrows Inlet, and Salmon Inlet.

Rustad says the Province has been negotiating with the Sechelt Nation for quite a few years and intense negotiations started in back in December.
