Work is underway to develop next steps to improve food security in Powell River.
The Community Food System Assessment has been completed, bringing together information from various stakeholders into one document.
Food Security Project Coordinator Vanessa Sparrow says the next step will be a meeting with stakeholders later this fall. Sparrow says the report highlights certain issues, some of which will be easy enough to address.
Sparrow says some of the issues that emerged while compiling the report include food affordability and the availability of agricultural land in the region.
