Vancouver Island University has launched a new program to encourage discussion on reconciliation.
Director of Aboriginal Education, Doctor Sharon Hobenshield, says the idea came about from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s calls to action. She says Reconciliation Road will consist of events to keep the conversation going.
Hobenshield says the goal is to help move forward on conversations and the calls to action from the Truth and Reconciliation Final Report.
Hobenshield says it’s a delicate balance to have these conversation without causing further harm.
