Minister says improvements needed for Community Gaming Grants program

The Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development says the government recognizes that improvements need to be made in some key areas of the Community Gaming Grants program.

Peter Fassbender was responding following the release by the Office of the Auditor General of a performance audit of the Grants program.

Auditor General, Carol Bellringer says there are 4 key areas where government should make improvements and ten recommendations were made including in the area of one time grants to organizations.

The government distributes almost $135-million a year from the Community Gaming Grants program to 5,000 eligible non-profit organizations.
