Now that the Sliammon band has wrapped up their latest elections, preparations to implement the 
final treaty settlement will now be front and centre. Clint Williams has just been re-elected Chief of the Sliammon Band….fending off a challenge from two other candidates on the ballot.
Chief Williams says all the necessary approvals are in place to move forward on the sweeping treaty settlement…which includes setting up their own laws.
Chief Williams says the treaty will empower the Sliammon Band to decide their own destiny…in breaking away from the Indian Act.
