Residents of Powell River steadily made their way to the polls to cast their vote for both the councillors, and to finally decide on the contentious issue of the Library.
Now, the results are in.  Mayor Dave Formosa returns for another term, as the acclaimed Mayor of Powell River.  The councillors for the next four years will be (in order of most votes) Russell Brewer, Rob Southcott, Carole Ann Leishman, Karen Skadsheim, Jim Palm, Maggie Hathaway.
As for the referendum on the library, it looks like Powell River will finally be getting one. Â 3315 of you voted yes, while only a third of that, 1008 voted no.
Meanwhile for the Regional District… Area A went to the unopposed Patrick Brabazon, Area B has Stan Gisborne with 200 votes, while Area C went to Colin Palmer with 217 votes, Sandy McCormick took Area D with 146 votes, and Area E was unopposed as well with Merrick Anderson taking it.
For the Island Trust, Susan Morrison is the new director, in a close race for Lasqueti Island with 143 votes.
And finally, the School Trustees for School District 47 are… Ashley Hull, Aaron Reid, Mary James, Doug Skinner and Jeanette Scott.
