Health care workers required to wear masks

After much controversy and an arbitrators ruling last year health care workers must now wear a mask at work or get a flu shot.

North Island Medical Health Officer Doctor Charmaine Enns says their influenza protection policy for Health Care workers kicked in on December first.

Enns says as of today across Island Health just over 63 percent of active workers have gotten their flu shot… last year about 80 percent were vaccinated…. so Enns says she hopes workers go get their flu shots in the next few days.
