The City of Powell River in partnership with Tourism Powell River and other community stakeholders will work to attract new residents to foster new investment and strengthen the economy through this ‘Resident Attraction’ campaign.
Utilizing the new site “http://powellriver.info/”, along with fantastic youtube videos profiling recent new residents, the messaging is all about lifestyle, affordability, culture, recreation and food self sufficiency just to name a few.
Local film maker Claudia Medina’s talents shine in the youtube videos.
HIgh quality printed material distribution is also planned in many larger urban areas.
Scott Randolph, the city’s Manager of Economic Development, tells coastfm news about the campaign so far…..
Randolph states that the campaign focus is Young professionals and families – Ages 25 to 55,
Telecommuters, Skilled Labour, Entrepreneurs, the LGBT community and Early Retirees.
Randolph also says the goals include fostering investment in the community, encouraging Diversity and Increasing entrepreneurship.
Randolph thinks Powell Riverites are the best at spreading the word…..
