Police investigating attempted break and enter at the Brick

POWELL RIVER, B.C- The RCMP are investigating after a failed break and enter at the Brick in Powell River.

According to a news release issued by the detachment, a report of an attempted break and enter at the Brick in the Town Centre Mall was received on Jan.5, 2018.

The suspect or suspects had tried to enter the business through the rear warehouse door. However, they failed to gain entry.

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to contact the Powell River RCMP or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477, or go online at www.bccrimestoppers.com. Callers to Crimestoppers will remain anonymous.

In addition to the attempted break and enter, the detachment is also investigating after a wallet was stolen from an unlocked truck.

The vehicle in question is a grey Ford F-150, which was parked in the 5400 block of Marine Avenue.

It’s believed the wallet was taken on Dec. 12, 2017. Police were contacted on Jan.5, 2018.

“The Powell River RCMP wish to remind the public to be vigilant in locking their vehicles doors when not

occupied, to guard against being victims of thefts,” read the release.

“Report all such occurrences immediately so that any suspected thefts can be investigated promptly.”
