POWELL RIVER, B.C.-Powell River’s firefighters are among the highest paid people working for the city. City hall has released the salaries of all of its employees.
The numbers are part of its 2017 Statement of Financial Information, which was presented to council at a special meeting on Thursday.
In total, city employees were paid $12,539,961 last year. Of those, 23 earned at least $100,000, 12 of which were firefighters.
The city’s highest paid employee was Director of Fire and Emergency Services Terry Peters, who earned $178,808. In total city council was paid $160, 536. Mayor David Formosa earned the most among them. He was paid $46,566.
