Fun in the sand on Texada
Grab a bucket and a shovel and head to the rock this weekend! It’s the 30 th annual Sandcastle Weekend on Texada today and tomorrow. Chairperson for the organizing committee Elayne Boloten gives a bunch of reasons why you should hop the ferry and visit the island.
Boleten says the parade starts at 11, then throughout the afternoon there will be bed races, bingo and children’s activities. Heading into the evening there will be a lip sync contest, moon bags on the tide and a laser light show at Shelter Point Park. She adds there will be food, art and craft vendors and beer gardens for the adults all weekend.
