August long weekend kept the Powell River RCMP detachment busy. According to Staff Sargent Rod Wiebe one unusual call had reported 4 naked males running around a camp ground in Lund. However they did manage to apprehend a Swiss man behind the wheel of a rented vehicle on Highway 101.
Wiebe says there was an increase by 40 calls for service compared to the week before. Broken down into categories, there were 5 impaired, 7 assaults, 1 break and enter, 6 thefts , 10 mischief charges and 2 drug related offences.
