It does not happen to often, but local RCMP are ready to respond when people use firearms carelessly. Powell River RCMP Sargent Kevin Day said this was the case last Thursday – August 6 th. Day says a verbal altercation between two males got out of control, and one male pulled out a firearm and fired one shot in the air.
Day says a 41 year old Powell River resident was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm and careless use of a firearm. In total , Day says there were 4 firearms that were seized last Thursday night
