BC Ferries latest financial numbers show an increase in travellers and a better bottom line… and as a result the company plans to offer some discounts come September.
Net earnings for the first quarter of this year, which started in April, are up around 5 million dollars compared to 2014.
CEO Mike Corrigan credits the increased traffic and higher sales in the gift shops and cafeterias.
Corrigan says starting September 8th they’ll offer a 50 per cent discount on *passenger* fares during some off-peak periods.
He says it will also work out to less for Experience Card users and Seniors.
