Simons says the numbers do not add up

Powell River Sunshine Coast MLA Nicholas Simons says he’s planning to raise the impact of “contract flipping” at health facilities when the Legislature returns in a couple of weeks.

Compass Group recently won the contract for cleaning services a Vancouver Coastal Health sites – including Sechelt Hospital (also PR, and Willingdon Creek)

Simons says VCH and the company assured people who worked for the old company they could get work with the new company.

But Simons says something doesn’t add up in the numbers he was shown after a recent meeting…

Simons says the Heath Employees Union is going to the Labour Relations Board, and he’s planning to keep up the pressure for more safeguards when it comes to “contract flipping”
