POWELL RIVER, B.C. – The official tally is in from this year’s Tour de Coast.
The Cops for Cancer event saw first responders travel by bike across the Sunshine Coast and Lower Mainland, making stops in different communities along the way.
Funds raised go towards helping send kids battling cancer to Camp Goodtimes.
In total, $705,956.33 was raised. The event’s goal was $525,000.00.
Constable Peter Gaiger of the Powell River RCMP was the top individual fundraiser, collecting $20,991.00.
Scott Creek Middle School followed Gaiger with $15,500.00. Third on the list was Tom Wolff Von Gudenberg with $13,439.00.
