Powell River, B.C. – The City of Powell River is having a Canada Day party, and everyone’s invited.
Monday’s celebration is being held from 3:00 to 10:00pm at Willingdon Beach.
After a 10-year hiatus, fireworks will be part of the city’s Canada Day party.
The event will be capped by a display at 10:15pm.
Shawna Rahier, who is the city’s community recreation program coordinator, said this year’s celebration has a new wrinkle.
“In the last few years the event has been an afternoon event, and we wanted to change it up a bit this year and keep the entertainment going through into the evening. We have an excellent line up of local musicians and performers, local food and sales vendors, and activities to keep kids entertained including two bouncy castles, a jouster, and games with our summer camp Leaders.”
