The MP for Courtenay-Alberni wants to ensure Canadians are not being gouged at the pumps. Gord Johns is calling for the creation of a gasoline ombudsman.
Gord Johns says a lot of consumers have questions about the relationship between the price of crude and the price at the pump. He says Canadians deserve more transparency when it comes to how gas prices are set.
Johns says he’s heard from constituents who have raised questions about why there are such differences in the price of gasoline between Island communities.
He says the creation of a Gasoline Ombudsman would provide consumers with reassurance over how prices are set.
