The Sechelt and District Chamber of Commerce is taking issue with the way the District of Sechelt awarded a contract for the operation of the visitor’s centre in the community.
The Chamber’s Kim Darwin says when the District renewed the contract it did so without putting it out to tender.
The Chamber has written a letter to council to point out the renewal of the agreement is a breach of the District’s own procurement policy.
Darwin says the Chamber is disappointed with council’s decision and hopes next time the District is more transparent.
The Chamber did operate the visitors centre in the past.
